Today begins my favorite month by far, welcome May!

 Dad and I planted these Asiatic Lilies a couple weeks ago, and, one finally bloomed.
 It was beautiful in the morning light!
 While working on organizing my music, I was sitting at the old wooden table that holds my Dad's stereo, and left these footprints.  We'll see if they ever get dusted.  :)
 I went running earlier and found this pretty daisy-wildflower plant.  It suffered wind damage on the way back.  Most things are left better in their natural state!

Ahh, it's been too long!  I decided a few days back to start doing more of a day-in-the-life type journaling.  Photo-journal, plus quotes, links, inspirations, etc.  It may change here and there, but, this'll work for now!  As for April 30, 2012.. this is what happened.

A starling flew in my parents sunroom and knocked himself out on the glass.  It has such a gorgeous oil-spill sheen on it's feathers!
Avocado!  It's been way too long since I've had one of my favorite foods.  Mmm!
Dad and I primed the basement ceiling last night and it speckled my skin like stars.

50 Things to Give Up Today!

That sure sounds nice doesn't it? We probably all grew up hearing "Never give up!" from friends, family, teachers, etc. This is quite the opposite. Tumblrgym reblogged this bit from halfhissize yesterday, and I thought it was something we could all use. Maybe not all 50, but, one can make a difference!

  1. Give up trying to be perfect. – The real world doesn’t reward perfectionists, it rewards people who get things done.
  2. Give up comparing yourself to others. – The only person you are competing against is yourself.
  3. Give up dwelling on the past or worrying too much about the future. – Right now is the only moment guaranteed to you. Right now is life. Don’t miss it.
  4. Give up complaining. – Do something about it.
  5. Give up holding grudges. – Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness.
  6. Give up waiting. – What we don’t start today won’t be finished by tomorrow. Knowledge and intelligence are both useless without action.
  7. Give up lying. – In the long-run the truth always reveals itself. Either you own up to your actions or your actions will ultimately own you.
  8. Give up trying to avoid mistakes. – The only mistake that can truly hurt you is choosing to do nothing simply because you’re too scared to make a mistake.

  19. Give up making promises you can’t keep. – Don’t over-promise. Over-deliver on everything you do.
  20. Give up letting your thoughts and feelings bottle up inside. – People are not mind readers. They will never know how you feel unless you tell them.
  21. Give up beating around the bush. – Say what you mean and mean what you say. Communicate effectively.
  22. Give up avoiding change. – However good or bad a situation is now, it will change. That’s the one thing you can count on. So embrace change and realize that change happens for a reason. It won’t always be easy or obvious at first, but in the end it will be worth it.

My room is on the second floor in an apartment, and, I've seen this pine tree in every season. From rain to snow to sunshine. It has a lot of dead needles still on it, but, I like it. Makes me feel like I'm chillin' in the mountains!

BNB Time.

Yesterday, I came home from a weekend at my parents to a bunch of bananas that had ripened too much for my taste. So, what to do? Banana nut bread, of course! Growing up, it was always something I looked forward to. Today, there are TONS of recipe variations. I wanted to use one that contained more banana to keep it fresher. I found one here on Cooks.com! From the taste test, it was my favorite batter (Ahem, I love all kinds of doughs and batters.), and, a pretty good bread! I'm in the process of ridding my cabinet of refined and processed foods, like the white sugar and all-purpose flour . I did use unbleached flour for this one though, which still isn't great for you. But, it's better than bleached! Now, to get rid of the basic, refined sugar!
I like mine with a bit'uh buttah and some milk!

9 pieces under $90!

Over the last several years, I've had an obsession with any and all types of street fashion. My bloglovin' list of fashion bloggers has grown to over 60 now, most are specifically based on every day looks. Although I love the extreme and exaggerated runways, it's always been about the people who dare to walk publicly in full costume that makes me swoon! Now, some people might be offended when I replace 'outfit' with 'costume', but, it's all the same to me. Make-up is to a mask as an outfit is to a costume. My goal was to get some good basics, and, I came out on top with some great pieces, all for $89.76! I can't wait to do some pairings with these!
